Our Panasonic pals just dropped a new compact digital camera into their Lumix range. The new device, bearing the DMC-LS80 moniker, will boast an 8.32MP CCD sensor, 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, 2.5-inch intelligent LCD, MEGA O.I.S image stabilization, ISO 1600 (maximum at full resolution), 30fps 4:3 (640×480) and 16:9 (848×489) video capture, as well as support for SD, SDHC and MMC. Checkout the gallery for a closer look.galleryPost(’ls80lumgi’, 3, ”); Given the lack of camera releases across the weekend, we have been forced to bestow Panasonic with our new “Best 8MP Camera This Weekend” award. We are sure they are very proud of their new achievement, and we would be very disappointed if they didn’t choose to include this endorsement on the product package. ![The Toshiba G450 USB HSDPA Modem Doubles as Cellphone [3G]](/wp-content/thumbs/the-toshiba-g450-usb-hsdpa-modem-doubles-as-cellphone-3g.jpg)
Toshiba’s new G450 USB HSDPA is designed to primarily function as a USB HSDPA modem for data on-the-go, but in a surprise combo double-attack move it also doubles as a handy cellphone. With its unconventional keypad and 96 x 36 pixel OLED display you’re unlikely to want to use it as your main phone, but you never know, it may come in handy. It does give you tri-band EDGE/GSM, 2100 MHz HSDPA and 300 hours standby time, with 3 hours talk time and three colors for around $290 in Europe. ![Macbook Air and The Usual Suspects [Line-up]](/wp-content/thumbs/macbook-air-and-the-usual-suspects-line-up-2.jpg)
We already gave you a spec-wise comparison of the Macbook Air and its prominent competitors, but The Usual Suspects—the Lenovo X300 (recently leaked), Sony TZ and Dell XPS m1330—are all back for a photo shoot. Jump for the fantastic line-up of the laptop bad boys bearing it all. If the relative scale between the laptops still has you baffled to how small everything is, check the Coke can on the far right. Not only does it look like the Dell is a hard-ass, as it appears to have brought a Cola with it during its incarceration period, it also gives you more of an idea of how small these devices really are. The Macbook Air is unquestionably the thinnest, but the sexiest in picture? That’s your call. (Read the full post about ‘Macbook Air and The Usual Suspects [Line-up]’…)

Hmm. If a “tantalizing candle smells so much like the real thing,” which in this case means delicious chocolate, isn’t a bit irresponsible and cruel to have the words “Genuine Chocolate Flavor” printed several times larger than the it’s-not-edible “candle” description below it? I don’t know about you, but if I follow the scent of warm chocolate that’s been wafting through the house for 65-70 hours (approximate burn time) and see a can of Hershey’s syrup bragging about its scrumptious genuine chocolate flavor, I’m not gonna read the rest of the label. A throat coated with melted candle wax be damned: I’m drinking it. Available from The Lighter Side beginning January 25 for $11. Via bookofjoe. DirecTV is set to offer an excellent new feature for DVR customers. Remote recording will allow you to log into the mobile DirecTV site (m.directv.com) from your phone and set up recordings on your DVR while you’re away from your couch. This feature is coming stock on the now shipping HR20-700 DVR model, but it will also be available on the older workhorse-like TiVo HR10-250 model. The official rollout of this feature is slated for next month and is bound to be a big hit will all the poor saps (present company included) that spend as much time traveling as they do watching the tube.
