Unwired View has just as much clue what the model number on this leaked Sony Ericsson is, but they did manage to fish some shots out of PConline.com.cn. The phone, which could be the K870, K830 or the K780, has a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash plus an on-board GPS, like the W760 already has. Chances are we’ll see an unveiling in Barcelona at the 3GSM show next month. [pconline via UnwiredView]

Although Japan Today doesn’t realize that Blu-ray discs aren’t DVDs, they do have some interesting stats that shed some light on why Warner might have chose to go BD exclusive. The report is from a study of 2,300 Japanese electronic retailers, and shows that 90-percent of HD movie player sales — not counting the PS3 — were owned by Blu-ray. The other interesting thing to note is that although Americans couldn’t care less about recording to shiny round discs, the Japanese continue to love it, and HD disc recorder sales were up to 20-percent in November and December from 6.1-percent in October. According to Akihabara News (which seems to be a little confused concerning the model number here), two new 12.1-inch, HSDPA-equipped configurations will be available this month: the ultra-lightweight (and ultra-pricey) R500-11J, highlighted by a 64GB SSD drive and impressive 1.72-pound package, and the cheaper, optical drive-packing R500-11I, which features the same 1.20GHz U7600 CPU and 2GB of RAM, but introduces a less appealing 120GB HDD. ![weighted companion cube pc: where have you been? [casemod]](/wp-content/thumbs/weighted-companion-cube-pc-where-have-you-been-casemod.jpg)
I’ve been keeping my eye on this Portal-inspired casemod project for a while now, watching and waiting for the builder to eventually finish his creation. And just like the cake, I guess that case was a lie. Then, out of the blue, I was checking out Gizmodo this morning when I came across this Weighted Companion Cube PC casemod that’s just so much better. Amazingly, builder Magnus Persson created this compact cube PC in just a week. The whole thing measures in at under 8×8×8 inches, fabricated from painted acrylic. Of course it has everything needed to play a round of Portal on board. It runs on a compact Via Epia EX1500G motherboard, and stays cool thanks to a CoolerMaster fan hidden on the bottom of the case. Go ahead, hum a few bars, nobody’s going to notice. “This was a triumph…” Bet it’s in there now! Now, while you spend the next 6-8 weeks trying wrench that beautiful melody from you head, you can concentrate on the harm you’ve caused to innocent weighted companion cubes over the world, and think about making restitution. Just when you thought the iPhone’s Giz-induced alternative monicker, the jesusPhone, was about to fade into obscurity, a Texas church has seen reason to bring it back. The Colleyville establishment has plastered a massive sign on one of its walls that is mightily reminiscent of the iPhone, with some rather interesting apps icons (anyone want to play Soldier with me?) There’s a bigger pic after the jump. However, at the risk of sounding like a pedantic little trollop, surely that should read iDentity, rather than identity? Our pals over at Tokyoflash have given us the scoop on their newest, ultra chic watch model. The new design, which will go by the Tibida moniker, boasts forty-two white LEDs in its display. Sure, it looks completely outrageous, but we have come to expect nothing less. Hit the gallery below to check out what KITT would look like if he was involved in a serious road traffic incident, written-off by the insurance company and then reincarnated into a time keeping device with supernatural quantities of cool.galleryPost(’toktibgi’, 3, ”); The name Tibida indicates the three modes the watch can be put in; time, binary and date. Yes, it displays binary—Woz would be proud. So, how does it work? (Read the full post about ‘Tokyoflash Tibida Brings Sexy and Geeky Together in Spectacular Fashion [Exclusive]’…)
