Eye-Fi SD card now with Smart Boost

Eye-Fi SD card now with Smart Boost
Eye-Fi has announced a new, and soon to be available update for the Eye-Fi SD Card called Smart Boost. According to Eye-Fi the update will make the card “more efficient and improve the upload experience.” The Smart Boost update will allow the card to know when the users computer is turned off or on, and if the computer is on and in range the pics will be automatically transfered to the computer over Wi-Fi. If the computer is not on, the pics will be uploaded to the web-based Eye-Fi service, again using the available Wi-Fi connection. When the pics are uploaded to the Eye-Fi service they will then be transfered to the users pre-chosen photo site such as Flickr, Picasa or Windows Live and also be transfered to the users computer when it is turned back on. RFID In Phone Controls Office Security System

RFID In Phone Controls Office Security System
DoCoMo has successfully developed an office security system that is based on RFID chips located in its cell phones. This system, known as Kaismart, allows cell phones to unlock doors, access computers and other networked peripherals, clock in and out, and even pay for your food. Woe to the person who actually loses his/her handset. I guess there are pros and cons to such convergence technology, but over-reliance on a single device isn’t necessarily a good thing either. So far we know there will be a 4.25 pound / 14.1-inch and 5 pound / 15.4-inch version, both with WXGA and WXGA+ LED backlit displays, as well as a 12-inch (pictured above) and 13.3-inch version for road warrior types. Expect DisplayPort, eSATA, plenty of USB ports, and PC or ExpressCard slots in the larger models. Microsoft offers to acquire Yahoo! for $44.6 billion dollars.
In a move that completely has the tech industry shaken up, Microsoft has put out a statement saying they have Proposes Acquisition of Yahoo! for $31 per Share - which of course equates to $44.6 billion dollars.  Yes, that this number -> $44,600,000,000… wow. The bid for tech giant Yahoo is a mix of cash and stock, and would clearly be a giant blow to search leader Google.  The release states that online advertising is a big plus to the acquisition, in a niche where the two companies have struggled to compete with Google’s AdSense / Adwords. Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer, Steve Ballmer sent the following letter to the Yahoo! (Read the full post about ‘Microsoft offers to acquire Yahoo! for $44.6 billion dollars.’…)

LED Love Finder Shirt

LED Love Finder Shirt
Lovers who can’t bear to be apart from one another will definitely find the LED Love Finder Shirt a perfect gift this Valentine’s. Whenever both of you are wearing the shirt but are apart from each other, only two and a half pixelated hearts will light up. Should the both of you get within hugging distance, the hearts on both shirts will slowly light up until they’re all fully powered - sorta like a digital representation of what you are feeling at the moment. I’d be a bit careful washing this shirt though, and will probably wear it sparingly if I ever got one. (Read the full post about ‘LED Love Finder Shirt’…)
