S60 Touch Demo At MWC 2008

S60 Touch Demo At MWC 2008
Nokia will be demonstrating its S60 Touch demo at Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona next month, so those who are headed in that direction will definitely be able to get their hands dirty playing with it. One feature that everyone can look forward to is its haptic feedback, along with a new development toolkit for S60 known as the UI Accelerator Toolkit. It is also confirmed that Nokia’s web-browsing experience will be improved and be on display as well, thanks to Adobe’s Flash Lite technology. Evil Mad Scientist Labs’ Peggy terrorizes roomates, darkness
Posted Feb 1st 2008 12:32AM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Misc. Gadgets What better way to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of the Mooninites’ invasion of Boston than to drop $80 on Evil Mad Scientist Labs’ new Peggy? It’s easy to fall in love with this 12 x 15-inch hackable pin grid for pluggable LEDs, which also features a programmable microcontroller capable of animating its 625 positions. Just be cautious when using it to spread your propaganda outdoors, some big city populaces apparently don’t like being toyed with by way of LED signage.Tags: hi fi, pvr, robots, mobile phone (Read the full post about ‘Evil Mad Scientist Labs’ Peggy terrorizes roomates, darkness’…)

Shocker: PCs to Use Same CPU than MacBook Air

Shocker: PCs to Use Same CPU than MacBook Air
Today, I’ve seen plenty of articles ranging from “Fujitsu, Lenovo to use MacBook Air CPU?” to “PC vendors to use the MacBook Air’s tiny Intel chip”. So what would make people think that Intel build a chip “just for Apple”? After all, MacBooks are “pretty PCs’, using PC components made by PC-centric companies. The most important differentiator is Mac OS. Of course, there’s no question that MacBooks have taken an important share of the market, but common, Intel isn’t just going to sell a small-package chip to Apple only. I’m not even buying the idea that Intel built the chip because Apple asked them to. (Read the full post about ‘Shocker: PCs to Use Same CPU than MacBook Air’…)

PMA 2008 Gallery: Entry-Level Digital SLRs Get Better and Better

PMA 2008 Gallery: Entry-Level Digital SLRs Get Better and Better
Almost every big manufacturer has released new digital single-lens-reflex (DSLR) cameras at PMA this week.  If you’re looking to upgrade your photo quality and you want a camera with interchangeable lenses you now have a few more choices.  Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax and Samsung must have gotten together and had a strategy meeting, because they’ve all released new entry-level SLRs that are packed full of professional level features. All of the cameras below retail for around $1,000 or less with a kit lens included.  As an aficionado of fine glass, I always recommend people shy away from the kit lenses and buy a higher end lens, but it’s your money.
