Sony Ericsson’s G700 and G900: “touchscreen organizers”

Posted Feb 10th 2008 1:51PM by Chris Ziegler
Filed under: CellphonesIt looks like the rumors about the brand spanking new G series from Sony Ericsson were absolutely spot on. Mobile World Congress has seen the introduction of the G700 and G900, phones that SE is referring to as “touchscreen organizers with a broad appeal.” The G700, the lesser of the two, features a 2.4 inch display (touchscreen, of course) with a 3.2 megapixel camera.

The G900 ups the ante with integrated WiFi and a 5 megapixel autofocus cam with a continuous shooting mode. The big draw on both models appears to be the ability to jot notes on the display using the stylus and save them as sticky notes right to the phones’ home screens — kinda nifty, we’ll admit. Dell ceases online sales of AMD-based PCs

Dell ceases online sales of AMD-based PCs

I remember back when Dell finally wised up and decided to put some AMD chips in their computers. Being a longtime AMD fan, I was overjoyed (even if I wouldn’t touch a Dell with a 10-foot pole) at their decision to give consumers a choice in CPUs. Unfortunately it was around that time that AMD began to really lose ground against Intel. They’ve yet to really pull out of their slump, and now Dell is reconsidering their sales of AMD chips. So far they’ve just nixed AMD CPUs from their online store. You can still find a few here and there, but that’s only temporary. They’ve add ed a few words of caution to those looking for AMD systems on their site: Shop for Dell computers with AMD processors in retail stores. Melbourne restaurant Attica serves up a number of exquisite dishes with “fresh smoke” courtesy of a piece of equipment that is usually the domain of teenage stoner misfits. A battery-powered bong is used to draw smoke from burning cedar and hickory chips into a plastic bag with food. The plastic bag is then sealed and placed in the refrigerator for a period of about twenty minutes. Fresh smoke is trapped in a stemless wine glass which is placed over the food for serving.
