Think their DH01 (pictured) DVB-H TV with the addition of built-in navigation. Motorola is light in the details for specs, release, and price. A new knee-brace device that is fitted to the leg can generate enough power to charge ten mobile phones, according to the scientists behind its development. The brace straps to the knee of the wearer and generates energy as they walk around normally using the same techniques as regenerative breaking. It is known as the Biomechanical Energy Harvester and makes an appearance in the February 8 issue of the Science journal. Development was carried out in the Locomotion Lab at Simon Fraser University, Canada, and was undertaken by assistant professor of kinesiology, Max Donelan. Other research staff on the project included Qingguo Li, Veronica Naing, Andy Hoffer, Mei Young, and Authur Kuo. (Read the full post about ‘Knee brace generates watts while you walk’…)

Posted Feb 11th 2008 12:00AM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Cellphones, GPS Europeans looking for a lower-end GPS-equipped HTC phone have another option today, in the form of the P3470, previously known as the Pharos. While it only has quad-band EDGE and a 200MHz CPU, you can at least expect the usual complement of a 2 megapixel camera, 256MB ROM / 128MB RAM, microSD, Bluetooth 2.0, and a roomy enough 2.8-inch QVGA flush touchscreen (á la the Touch). The G900 has similar features as the G700 but features a 5 Megapixel camera, has WIFI 802.11 b/g and has a business card scanner. The G-series is designed for users who love browsing their phones with their finger or stylus, and like to write instead of typing. This seems like an attempt from Sony Ericsson to create an iPhone-like user experience… we will need to get our hands on it to see how it compares. It will be available in selected markets in Q2 2008 Tags: M4A, CD, digital, speakers (Read the full post about ‘Sony Ericsson G900: the Touchscreen Phone with a 5 Megapixel Camera’…)

The Sony Ericsson C902 is the imaging phone of the CyberShot family because it has capabilities like stabilization that is missing from its C702 sibbling. Other than that they almost share the same specifications. The C902 lacks FM radio and video streaming but it has a 5 Megapixel camera (instead of 3.2 for the C702) and a better battery life: Sony Ericsson estimates that the talk time for the C902 is 9hrs, instead of 7hrs for the C702. [MWC] With this new elegant silk bronze phone, Sony Ericsson aims at making our lives simpler with the “one-touch full organizer functions”. The company claims that they are delivering innovative organizer capabilities in regular phones with the G-Serie (regular keyboard and size). I guess that this is for people who hate the brick look and size of QWERTY Smartphones (like me), but I would not trade my full keyboard for the sake of fashion! The features include a 2.4” touchscreen with 240 x 320 pixels, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3G (UMTS), handwriting recognition, video calling, picture blogging and video recording. This GSM phone will be available in selected markets from Q2 2008. (Read the full post about ‘Sony Ericsson G700: the Silk Bronze Touchscreen Phone’…)

Sony Ericsson has a strong line-up for this Mobile World Congress 2008. With excellent designs such as the Walkman 980i, the Z770 Clamshell (gallery) and the uber-smart XPERIA X1, there is no doubt that the competition had chills up their spine when they saw what was coming. Don’t miss the Cyber-Shots C902 and C702 camera-phones made for the outdoors and the G900 and G700 organizers. The phone that excites us the most is the XPERIA X1 (gallery). Its stunning screen (similar to the Sony Mylo 2) and it striking design will rock the world of Windows Mobile. The X1 has it all: touch display, QWERTY, 3.5G, WiFi, A-GPS… expect many to call it an “iPhone Killer”. (Read the full post about ‘Sony Ericsson Lands in Force in Barcelona’…)

It’s been nearly two weeks since I’ve seen a combo mouse worth writing about. I’ve seen plenty of mice that try to pass themselves off as headsets, pointers and even a really weird label printer. However, this is the first time I’ve seen one that’s also a gamepad. I think that the Genius Navigator 365 mouse may actually be something worth your time (and money). Were this an everyday mouse meant to hook up to your desktop, I wouldn’t likely recommend it. When you take into account the fact that this is a small travel mouse meant to be carried with your laptop, it seems perfect. Posted Feb 10th 2008 3:34PM by Thomas RickerFiled under: Cellphones var Wondering what the XPERIA X1’s magical mystery “panel interface” is? Good, us too. Now we’ve got a preview courtesy of Sony Ericsson. If it functions this quick in hand as it does in the promotional video then Sony Ericsson might just be on to something here. See what we mean after the break. (Read the full post about ‘Video: Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1 “Panel Interface”’…)
