To rally support for the decision by the Yahoo Board of Directors to reject Microsoft’s US$44.6 billion dollar bid for the company, Yahoo drafted a letter which it sent out to current stockholders. The letter was a laundry list of reasons of why the company rejected Microsoft’s offer. The letter was also very silent on soliciting other offers or asking Microsoft to raise their current bid to buy the company.
Jerry Yang, Yahoo’s CEO, stated that Yahoo’s strong brand and its ability to attract advertising put it in a strong position for continued success.

Who knew that tape decks are still being released in this day and age? Sony goes against the grain with the CFD-W77, featuring a dual tape recorder (with dubbing capabilities - talk about low-tech piracy), a CD player and an integrated FM/AM radio tuner. I must say for 100 Euros, the CFD-W77 is rather pricey considering how you can get a sub-$100 mp3 player to carry around. Everyone knows Sesame Street’s Elmo, and that red colored furry creature has seen his fair share of (monster, pardon the pun) sales in the past especially during the holiday seasons of yore where parents were frenzied enough to line up outside toy stores just to pick up a Tickle Me Elmo for their kids. This year, Elmo is back with a vengeance from Fisher-Price, whom the latter touts the former to being the most engaging and entertaining Elmo to day. Known as Elmo Live, this feature plush ups the ante where realistic, interactive play is concerned. For the first time in our lives, we will be able to see Elmo open and close his mouth while speaking just like the real muppet as seen on TV. (Read the full post about ‘Most entertaining Elmo yet’…)

Red Mile has produced some shockers in the past, I don’t think that Grip Shift ever really did it for everyone and Jackass the Game was a stinker in every possible way. The news that Red Mile has recruited some major talent in the form of Jeff Braun makes me hopeful that the 2009 release of the Sin City game has some real potential. Jeff Braun, was the founder of Maxis and a co-creator of the SimCity franchise. With Braun on board as strategic adviser, Red Mile should be heading in the right direction, for once.
