Uni-Tasking Pizza Scissors Will Slice and Serve

Uni-Tasking Pizza Scissors Will Slice and Serve
What kitchen implement is wedge shaped and has a sharp edge, perfectly suited to cutting a pizza without disturbing the topping, and then serving the slice? That’s right. A chef’s knife. Sure, you could waste $10 on this pair of pizza scissors, which will do the same thing. But that’s all they will do. I don’t know which is worse. The fact that manufacturers continue to market uni-tasking tat, or that gullible consumers continue to stuff their kitchen drawers with it. What next? An egg cracker?Product page [Freshfinds via Book of Joe] Tags: audio, toys, pvp, TV (Read the full post about ‘Uni-Tasking Pizza Scissors Will Slice and Serve’…)

Keep 10 different memory cards in a single holder

Keep 10 different memory cards in a single holder

When I’m on the road covering an even of some sort, I have several different memory cards that go with me. My Canon Rebel needs a Compact Flash card, my backup Kodak camera has an SD card, my phone takes a microSD and even my camcorder wants a Sony Memory Stick. Naturally, each card has its own little plastic case, which can be something of a hassle. If you’ve got as many cards to carry as I do, you might like this Flash Memory Card Holder. The case looks to be about the size of an Altoids tin and slides open to reveal three separate compartments which hold up to 10 different memory cards. Unfortunately, it’s rare to actually need 10 different types of flash memory, so it would be nice if you could customize the holder to your liking. Rumor has the white AT&T Centro available beginning February 19
The latest, and still yet to be confirmed details on the highly anticipated white AT&T branded Palm Centro places the availability date as of February 19, 2008. A forum member over on the Everything Treo forums is claiming that he has received “confirmation” from his local AT&T store manager. “I spoke with my local AT&T manager today and he told me he has a SKU and inventory listing for the AT&T Centro, but no pricing. Should be around the corner folks, hopefully later this month!” If this release does come true I just hope that AT&T will keep the $99 price tag that we have seen with Sprint. iPAQ 610 Cancelled

iPAQ 610 Cancelled
HP’s iPAQ 610 won’t be coming Stateside after all, as the company mentioned that “due to recent legal issues between suppliers of mobile phone technologies, HP has decided not to offer the iPAQ 610 Business Navigator to U.S. customers as previously planned.” No idea if this means the cancellation is extended nationwide though. The iPAQ 610 is also known as the iPAQ 614, 614c and 600. Ah well, gotta look elsewhere for your smartphone experience then. BenQ Mobile Internet Device

BenQ Mobile Internet Device
BenQ rolled out its Mobile Internet Device at the MWC ‘08, bringing the following specifications to the table :- 4.8″ touch screen display at 1,024 x 600 resolution WiFi connectivity HSDPA connectivity Shake control systemCertainly, the last feature is the most interesting of all although I’m not too sure how intuitive it can get. Hopefully it’ll be easier than pressing buttons when you want to control menus or manipulate navigation windows. The BenQ Mobile Internet Device also sports a VGA camera and is powered by Intel’s Menlow platform. There is no word on pricing and availability. Nokia launches user created “Yamake” games on N-Gage — bye bye Gizmondo v2

Nokia launches user created “Yamake” games on N-Gage — bye bye Gizmondo v2
Posted Feb 14th 2008 3:46AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: cellphones, GamingSorry Gizmondo, your dreams of a resurrected user generated gaming platform were just usurped by Nokia. Straight outta Espoo comes Nokia’s Yamake (a mashup for “you make the game”) for their N-Gage platform. With it, Nokia says players can “create their own games” from a range of “mini games” by adding user generated text, pictures, sound clips and movies. Games can then be shared via the N-Gage Arena and via MMS between N-Gage compatible S60 devices. The press release specifically mentions the creation of mini games “such as” pictures puzzles and quizzes — so no, we’re not looking at user generated, 3D first person shooters upon initial release. Sprint’s April WiMAX soft-launch on track, full-scale deployment at risk

Sprint’s April WiMAX soft-launch on track, full-scale deployment at risk
Posted Feb 14th 2008 6:15AM by Thomas RickerFiled under: WirelessReady for untethered 3Mbps to 5Mbps downloads and 1Mbps to 1.5Mbps upload speeds while on the go? Us too, especially our Chicago-based brethren waiting for Sprint to properly soft-launch their Xohm service onto the nation. Backed by 50 or so WiMax exhibits with product on display at Mobile World Congress, Sprint’s VP for technology development, Ali Tabassi, assured us that April would indeed see the fledgling Xohm service soft launch into Chicago, Baltimore, and the DC areas. However, he conceded that the billions required to reach the goal of 100 million subscribers by year end have not been approved. Mobile World Congress ‘08: NVIDIA shows their HD capable solution for mobile devices

Mobile World Congress ‘08: NVIDIA shows their HD capable solution for mobile devices
NVIDIA surprised everyone when they unveiled their new platform for mobile phones. APX 2500 mobile platform is industry’s first ever to have HD capabilities. NVIDIA also displayed a prototype that used their new amazing chip. Its interface is just unbelievable and is an absolute eyecandy. To be frank I liked it over Apple’s masterpiece. What’s more surprising is that this phone had an HDMI out and NVIDIA were using it to display what this chip is actually capable of. They had it hooked to a big plasma screen (720p) and it surely looked amazing. Phone powered by this chip is nothing less than a portable power house.
