MAME32 is dead… well, at least the name is. Welcome MameUI to the latest Windows GUI port of the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. MAME has lofty goals to “document” the internal hardware and code of all arcade games and was originally written in 1997 by Chris Kirmse. In addition to documenting the various arcade games, MAME provides a mechanism to play the old ROMs (like Dig Dug, Galaga and Pac-Man). Checking and tracking down a fuse/breaker that controls a power outlet can be quite the headache, so if you want to do away with guessing games, the Easy Circuit Finder ought to do the trick. Here’s an easy and inexpensive way to track down what fuse or breaker controls which outlet. Just plug the Easy Circuit Finder into the outlet in question. When the power is turned on, it makes a very loud tone you can even hear in the basement. No more yelling up and down the stairs, “Is it on? Is it off?”. Easy Circuit Finder makes it easy to track down switches or breakers without an assistant. Adjustable volume control lets you use it in close quarters, too. Plugs into any 115 volt outlet. Posted Feb 17th 2008 10:03AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Displays, HDTV, Home Entertainment Oh sure, it’s not like we haven’t witnessed ginormous rotating panoramic displays before, but it seems as if projectiondesign and the iCinema Research Centre of Australia’s University of New South Wales are taking their long-standing partnership even further with new applications for the AVIE 360-degree 3D multimedia display. Recently showcased at the International Sydney Festival, T_Visionarium will offer up “an all surrounding 3D spectacle of hundreds of video clips that the viewers can interactively sort and edit,” and apparently, the duo is also gearing up to bring the somewhat similar iDome to various training facilities across New South Wales. I guess this could be fairly described as geek humor. Most attempts at geek humor fail to impress me, but this was funny. It was posted up on You Tube about three weeks ago and did get a bit of play on a few sites. I don’t remember where I saw it first, it could have been anywhere but I would hazard a guess that it was either TechEblog or Technabob. Anyway, without further ado, the Vacationeers with Google Maps. Video after the jump. (Read the full post about ‘Video: Vacationeers on Google Maps’…)

So far three of the car industry’s most hyped collision prevention technologies have been put to the test by British Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre Thatcham, and I am happy to say that the trio were successful when it came to mitigating and preventing low speed collisions. These new technologies are the Volvo City Safety, Mercedes Distronic Plus, and Honda CMBS that utilize radar systems when it comes to performing their functions. They’ll be extremely important where saving lives are concerned since statistics show that 75% of all motor accidents are low speed collisions. According to Matthew Avery, Thatcham Research Manager, “They will make a major impact on the number of slow speed accidents – in Britain and across the World. The last entry into Questioneering’s blog was October 2007, so we are hoping that he is still around and working on ever greater projects. Video after the jump. The completed Steam Powered Radio Controlled Tank. (Read the full post about ‘Video: Radio Control Tank Gets Steampunk’d’…)
