Posted Feb 21st 2008 1:58PM by Joshua TopolskyFiled under: Transportation, Networking Finally things are starting to get a little more futuristic around here. Beginning next Monday, bus riders in San Francisco will get a chance to hop at least one ride that will take them to the Columbus stop, Van Ness stop… and the World of Tomorrow. Thanks to the combined effort of SF’s Muni and Cisco, the “Connected Bus” will be hauling around free WiFi and touchscreen maps on its walls (which will also carry updated connecting transit information). Sure, it’s no citywide wireless coverage, but combined with the BART train WiFi rollout, it’s certainly a start. (Read the full post about ‘San Francisco bus getting WiFi, deathmatch to follow’…)

I know this must have happened to you a million times as well . . . you’re just about to go down the catwalk at the Paris fashion show, but you’ve cut your cheek on one of the crystal champagne flutes. What to do? Slap on one of these high-fashion bandages over your boo-boo, adjust your outfit (which is the size of a bandage anyway), and off you go! Now you’ve started another fashion trend, though rapper Nelly may claim that honor. Blinged out bandages with 4 Swarovski crystals are available in three colors (white, red and pink), and one little tin sells for $12 at Charles and Marie. Designed by Fabian Seibert, who also created the trendy ace-type bandage replacement in 5 bright colors. (Read the full post about ‘Blinged out bandages’…)

In case you missed last week’s interview with Zero Punctuation’s Yahtzee, know that he’s a Brit living in Australia, holds no punches, and has been getting increasingly famous in the games industry due to the reviews he does for The Escapist.
Well, Yahtzee was asked to give a special presentation at the Developer’s Choice Awards Videos from GDC 2008. He takes on Bioshock, Halo 3, The Orange Box, and more.
But my personal favorite is Yahtzee’s take on the perhaps mythical Duke Nukem Forever. As you may have seen, the game was confirmed for 2008, then rapidly unconfirmed again.

Posted Feb 21st 2008 12:03AM by Joshua TopolskyFiled under: Gaming Look, we’re not trying to say anything, but that 40GB model looks real, real lonely sitting there on its own. Could it be possible that all those juicy rumors of a refreshed, resized PS3 package are actually coming to fruition? Maybe — or maybe Sony is just downsizing big time… but we doubt it.[Thanks, Jason]Tags: PDA, gear, M4A, pvr (Read the full post about ‘80GB PS3 goes missing from Sony Style site’…)

Posted Feb 21st 2008 2:18AM by Chris ZieglerFiled under: cellphones, Wireless Well, goodness, try saying that five times fast. T-Mobile has officially unveiled its rather longwinded “HotSpot @Home Talk Forever Home Phone” plan add-on for folks that aren’t quite ready to put their landlines out to pasture quite yet, though there’s a catch: much like the original, it’s beginning life as a trial in just a couple of test markets. Lucky folks in Seattle and Dallas will be able to march into their local T-Mobile outlet and pick up the long-rumored WRTU54G for $49.99 on contract, at which point $10 a month tacked onto their T-Mobile bill will allow them to jack in their old-school landline phones and get unlimited domestic calling.
