Paramount & Dreamworks HD DVD support ends March 4
Posted Feb 28th 2008 11:11PM by Richard LawlerFiled under: HDTV, Home EntertainmentWe don’t know if Jeffrey Katzenberg got a text message, fax, e-mail or smoke signal indicating the format war was over, but Video Business has confirmed Paramount and Dreamworks Animation will (rather abruptly) to stop releasing HD DVDs after next week. If you were looking forward to Bee Movie on March 11, Sweeney Todd on April 1 or the just announced There Will Be Blood, those are cancelled. Into the Wild and the appropriately-named Things We Lost in the Fire will be Paramount’s last reminders of its exclusive agreement. Not specifically mentioned was Star Trek: TOS Season 2, but don’t hold your breath. (Read the full post about ‘Paramount & Dreamworks HD DVD support ends March 4′…)

Dell brings Precision M2300, M4300 laptops into the Penryn fold

Dell brings Precision M2300, M4300 laptops into the Penryn fold
Posted Feb 28th 2008 4:57PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Laptops It’s already extended Penryn updates to its Precision M6300 laptop and a couple of Inspirons, but Dell’s unsurprisingly not done yet, and it’s now doled out similar upgrades to its Precision M2300 and M4300 models. Those are each now available with Penryn processors ranging from 2.1GHz to 2.6GHz, and for the same price as the earlier Mermom processors, although Dell warns that opting for Penryn on the M2300 may delay your ship date. Otherwise, you can load ‘em up with a max 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB SSD drives, but you’ll have to make do with an NVIDIA Quadro FX 360M for graphics. If that’s not too much of a compromise, you can customize your system right now (Read the full post about ‘Dell brings Precision M2300, M4300 laptops into the Penryn fold’…)

According to the CNET News Blog, Anne Broache is reporting that there is a democratic bill in the House of Representatives that would legally force AT&T and Apple to offer an unlocked iPhone. Now, the law wouldn’t specifically address AT&T or the iphone.
