European Xbox 360 price cuts officially official

Posted Mar 10th 2008 11:50AM by Nilay Patel

Yeah, we had plenty of advance notice, but it looks like those European Xbox 360 price cuts are now the real deal. The 360 Arcade is now just €199.99 / £159.99, while the Premium drops €80 / £50 to €269.99 / £199.99 and the Elite comes down €80 / £40 to €369.99 / £259.99. That means the Arcade is now half the price of the 40GB PS3 in the EU — not necessarily a great 1:1 comparison, but something tells us it’s going to look awfully convincing on store shelves.

Claim: AT&T Demands In-Store Contract Activation On iPhone Sales

If AT&T is sick of people buying iPhones without also signing up for its cellular service, it can do at least something to stop the scourge of unlocking: simply refuse to sell them without in-store activation.

One customer claims that service reps at his local AT&T outlet declined to sell him an iphone unless they activated it at point-of-sale. Moreover, they openly told him it was to prevent him from taking it home and unlocking it.

Speaker shaped as lips

If you’re more into fashion than technology when it comes to gadgets, the Mini Lips Speaker is a must have item.

It can provide a “sound power” of 2W which is good enough for a mini speaker. Thanks to the USB interface and 3.5mm audio output, you can connect the speakers to a high number of devices - MP3 players (iPods, Creatives, etc), CD players, computers, gaming systems, and more.

The whole package includes a neck strap, and since the USB Mini Lips Speaker only weighs 29 grams, it can be the perfect combination.

Price? $14.

Cricket Communications has launched the world’s first CDMA Advanced Wireless Service (AWS) mobile phone - the UTStarcom CDM7126. The CDM7126 will also be available in other Cricket markets nationwide, but initially the launch is limited to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The CDM7126 was designed to operate on the new AWS spectrum band and also operates on the PCS and cellular bands. Tobii Technology lets you control your computer with your naked eye

Tobii Technology lets you control your computer with your naked eye
Need to open a folder on your computer but you’re feeling a bit too lazy to move your fingers? Tobii Technology is here to the rescue, with the introduction of their OEM eye tracking technology during this year’s annual CeBIT trade show. This technology can further be applied to gaming, medical and vision diagnostics, market research set-top boxes, 3D displays, and as well as in automotive safety. The list goes on to include computer interfaces in medical, industrial and military environments. Personally, I think this would be a great feature in vending machines, where it would enable anyone to look at a particular product (a hot/cold beverage, tissues/napkins, etc.) and claim the item at the push of a single button without having to go through the currently difficult process of pushing two to three stubby nubs. Massive Software turns talents to architecture and robotics

Massive Software turns talents to architecture and robotics
If you’ve watched the “Lord of the Rings” films, then you’ve seen Massive Software’s technology in action. The huge battle scenes containing thousands of characters were all thanks to the company’s software, Massive Prime, and the same technology has been used more recently in the film “The Golden Compass.” The key aspect that makes Massive’s products so popular is the use of intelligent agents that show realistic behavior through their animations. This allows for a battle scene to be created without having to spend hundreds of man-hours animating different attacks, defenses, and movements.
