Samsung 53 Series | 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, 253BW

Samsung 53 Series | 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, 253BW
I normally only post about HDTVs and everything HD, which sometimes includes computer LCD monitors if they feature a HD resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels), but they brand new and amazing looking Samsung 53 series of monitors cough my attention, and I just had to write about them. Firstly, it seems as if Samsung have taken one of their great looking HDTVs, taken the design and shrunk it down for a computer monitor. I recently wrote about the equally impressive Samsung 2493HM / 2693HM, which have received a lot of attention, but are also larger, and more costly than the new Samsung Syncmaster 53 series. The new Samsung 53 series SyncMasters consist of four thin black gloss frame models. (Read the full post about ‘Samsung 53 Series | 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, 253BW’…)

Elastic muscle tone garments

Elastic muscle tone garments
In the fitness arena, companies never seem to tire of offering up products with the supposed ability to exercise our bodies without requiring us to actually do anything - and the market will continue to thrive as long as the gullible and lazy among us keep feeding it. Vibrating belts designed to trim our waists while we watch tv and exercise machines that promise to give us glutes of steel in just 4 minutes a day seem very compelling during bouts of insomnia at four in the morning. Oh, but these muscle tone garments from Japanese sportwear maker Asics are different (until proven otherwise) because they assist you in toning your muscles during exercise. $75 accessory turns any cameraphone into mobile microscope

$75 accessory turns any cameraphone into mobile microscope
Diligent research plus $75 has led researchers at the University of California, Berkeley to develop a cellphone accessory that turns any cameraphone into a mobile microscope. That, coupled with the ability of most mobile phones to wirelessly connect with computers either via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, makes for a very convenient way to do a little bit of research and medical diagnosis. With enough time and training, people might even be able to do this themselves. The concept is so simple I’m amazed nobody has ever thought of it before. Finally all those megapixels have found a way to be useful, for once. You might be tempted to ridicule and judge it by how it looks but once you realize how useful this thing could be, hopefully you’ll come to your senses. Even happier ending for “cleaned” Xbox 360 owner: Gates-signed console arrives

Even happier ending for “cleaned” Xbox 360 owner: Gates-signed console arrives
Posted Mar 22nd 2008 8:06AM by Ryan BlockFiled under: Gaming Remember that dude Nathaniel whose highly sentimental autographed Xbox 360 console was sent in for repairs and returned maddeningly clean? Turns out he didn’t just get a signed Halo 3 care package. Even more swag arrived this week, including (among other things) an Xbox 360 with signatures from the 360 team and Bungie, and even Bill G himself. Yeah, that Bill G. And we can tell you exactly how damned hard it is to get the man to autograph stuff, the last few times we saw him we asked him sign our chests — no dice. The G-man’s infamous signature after the break. Us? We’re closing the book on this one — well played, Microsoft. Bowl prevents soggy cereal syndrome

Bowl prevents soggy cereal syndrome
If you’re one of the many folks in the world who likes their cereal crunchy, and doesn’t like it getting soggy, but constantly pouring milk into the bowl a little bit at a time is a pain, then you need the EatMeCrunchy bowl. It’s pretty simple as these “why didn’t i think of it” inventions usually are - it’s a shelf that sits in a bowl that covers about 70% of the base, so that your milk sits in the bottom and your dry (and still crunchy) cereal sits on the shelf just waiting for you to push it into the milk for the right amount of mixing. The shelf is removable and both bowl and shelf are dishwasher safe. (Read the full post about ‘Bowl prevents soggy cereal syndrome’…)

Averatec 2575 notebook released

Averatec 2575 notebook released

Averatec isn’t exactly the biggest player around when it comes to notebooks, but it does have a fair market presence and technological background to come up with something interesting once in a while. Today we have the Averatec 2575 notebook that makes inroads into the ultra portable notebook PC market with its 12.1″ offering. I’m curious to see how this model will stack up against the rest of similar notebooks in the market – will it be able to hold its own and move a fair number of units, or will it be another choice people will pass over? Head on to read an excerpt from the press release right after the jump. (Read the full post about ‘Averatec 2575 notebook released’…)
