Rumors are flying about the next version of Windows Mobile. It was initially expected to be unveiled in Barcelona at 3GSM but pulled a no-show. Now, the latest rumors are that we’ll see it unveiled at CTIA. Will it be a game changer? Probably not, since it’s 6.1 and not 7.0. That said, it’s loaded with more enhancements, a new UI, a new home screen, and more. While these aren’t extreme enhancements, they’re certainly welcome given what the competition has been up to.
I was a Windows Mobile lover for a long time but haven’t been able to put my iphone down since its arrival.

Regardless of how old we get, Geeks are going to see new technology and immediately want to pick it up. This definitely is the case when it comes to a group of systems created by LeapFrog. We may end up picking these up for our kids or nieces and nephews in the end, but it’s still cool seeing what the youngsters can get their hands on. Read on to find out what the young generations can expect in the next few months. Earlier this week, I had a lunch meeting with some of LeapFrog’s PR team, and I got an early look at several US$10,000 prototypes of this upcoming technology. Adobe Photoshop maybe a little late with this but still it still is Photoshop, so no matter how delayed they are in releasing the web version of the widely used image editor, it should definitely receive quite the number of users. Released as Adobe Photoshop Express, this free Rich Internet Application offers users with the basic Photoshop editing functions in a fast loading Flash-based web environment. Users are allowed to upload up to 2GB of photos for editing, touching up and sharing. Edited photos can also be uploaded or downloaded to various social networking sites such as Facebook. For expert Photoshop users, Photoshop Express may be a letdown as it made their favorite photo editing tool to within reach of the non-technical users. This mp3 player from Thanko can be hand-cranked, ensuring that you get to enjoy your music no matter where you are, and it sure as heck is better than relying on the sun for juice if you’re rocking to a solar-powered charger. A single minute of cranking will net you 10 minutes’ of music. Capable of storing up to 1GB worth of audio, this hand-cranked MP3 player supports MP3 and WMA formats - not much, but functional to say the least. Heck, it even has a built-in flash light to help you find your way around at night. The hand-cranked MP3 player retails for approximately 40 Euros a pop. Posted Mar 27th 2008 9:11AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Robots The always jam-packed ROBO-ONE competition in Japan was more heated than ever this year, with bi-ped robots tackling others and ripping them limb from limb. Okay, so maybe that’s somewhat of a stretch, but you can rest assured some serious throw downs, um, went down. Interestingly enough, we heard that an i-SOBOT competition was also included (infighting, anyone?), and that the Maru family’s King Kizer took home the gold. Garmin has a brand new GPS system that does not target road users but pilots instead. The GPSMAP 495 helps pilots by furnishing them with the necessary information required to fly safely from start to finish, courtesy of a high resolution terrain database that features various options such as “terrain and obstacle alerting, pop-up alerts, and customizable minimum clearance limits that give audible terrain alerts at specified altitudes.” In addition, it also can relay information about regional taxiways and airports. The GPSMAP 495 will be made available for purchase from early next month onwards, retailing for $1,595 thereabouts. (Read the full post about ‘Garmin GPSMAP 495′…)
