DIY Brick Tower Mood Light

So you think you’re a LEGO whiz, eh? Why not pick up Brick Tower Mood Light from Brando and build your very own lamp? Each $35 purchase comes with 26 pieces of 8 x 2 bricks and 56 pieces of 2 x 1 bricks, so you can always let your creative juices flow instead of settling on something as boring as this standard lamp form factor. Gotta love the myriad of colors that it comes in - although knocking it on the floor accidentally will probably result in it shattering to bits and pieces or chipped at the sides.

Parrot DF7700 digital photo frame

Parrot has announced a brand new 7″ digital photo frame which it proudly claims to be “global”. The main reason for doing so being it accepting photos sent to it from a GSM cell phone through MMS, which means you will be able to update your digital photo frame for your family and friends to see despite being half the world away. Sounds like a pretty nifty idea, but make sure your phone’s digital camera is pretty decent to start with (VGA quality will just not do these days), and also ensure you are on some sort of cheap data roaming plan (now that’s an oxymoron if I ever saw one) since sending MMSes isn’t exactly the most pocket-friendly action to take while you’re traveling.

This is made possible since the Parrot DF7700 digital photo frame comes with its own integrated SIM card and a dedicated call number, just like your cell phone.

Facebook expands, plans to adds 22 more languages

Facebook continues to prove that it’s a social network like no other by using a new user-powered translation engine for their site. They’re going to use this to add 22 more languages to Facebook so that it will be accessible to more people across the world. Currently, Facebook is only available in four main languages: English, French, German and Spanish. This move will no doubt add to the site’s overall visibility and accessibility.

As mentioned previously, the translation engine will be a user-powered, so if you’re interested in contributing to Facebook’s expansion, you may do so by going through the simple application process here.

Western Digital My Book Studio Edition II

Western Digital My Book Studio Edition II
Western Digital has rolled out a new external hard drive yet again, and this time we have the My Book Studio Edition II up for inspection. Available in massive 1TB and 2TB capacities, features include :- FireWire 400/800 eSATA USB 2.0 RAID 0 or 1 Mac support (can be reformatted for PCs)The only drawback would be the price - you will need to fork out $399 and $599 for the 1TB and 2TB models, which is roughly $200 to $300 more than what you would fork out for similarly-sized drives. I guess if you need connectivity, then those extra dollars would be well worth it. Tags: Gadget, dvr, digital, gadgets (Read the full post about ‘Western Digital My Book Studio Edition II’…)

40+ Ubisoft games heading to Steam

Just a couple of weeks after Steam started selling digital copies of the Unreal games, Ubisoft has announced it is bringing more than 40 games to Valve’s online distribution service.

Right now you can get Far Cry and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell with a 10% discount if you purchase them before April 8. Another coupe for Steam is the fact you can also pre-order the PC version of Assassin’s Creed, so you will be able to play it the moment it is released via Steam’s pre-loading service.

Other titles we can expect to see in the near future include a selection of their Tom Clancy games, Heroes of Might and Magic games and the IL-2 Sturmovik collection.

ClarityLife Mobile Phones are pretty simple

ClarityLife Mobile Phones are pretty simple
ClarityLife Mobile Phones have two major advantages, one they are pretty simple to use and the other, it acts as an emergency response device phoning for help from emergency services when needed. Ideally meant for the older generation who appreciate less complicated devices, the phone also features large text on the screen to make easy reading. Even the speakers can amplify the audio beyond what most other cell phones do. A large display with prominent buttons and the one touch emergency response button add to the advantages. Inexpensive Garfield MP3 player

Inexpensive Garfield MP3 player
There are three things I’ve always liked about Garfield: his love for Pooky (his teddy bear), the way he looks when tucked into his bed, and his appetite for pans of lasagna. Today I think I’ll add a fourth thing: the cost of his MP3 player. The Garfield mp3 player may only have 256MB of internal flash memory, but it’s got an SD card slot, comes with matching earbuds, has a built-in microphone for voice recordings, and is only $8. For an additional $6, Surplus Computers will even give you a free 1GB SD card. Beat that, Nermal! Via Chip Chick. (Read the full post about ‘Inexpensive Garfield MP3 player’…)

Drill Your Tooth for a Bluetooth Microphone
Do you spend hours upon hours talking on the phone that sometimes you wish your microphone is stuck permanently near your mouth? Why wish for something like that if you can have a microphone that’s stuck INSIDE your mouth? This Chinese product is called Bluetooth Dental Insert Microphone. And, as its name implies, the miniscule device is meant to be inserted in your tooth. After all, who wouldn’t to have their tooth drilled with a hole 1.7 mm in depth and 2.2mm in diameter? Just look at the girl below–she looks happy about it…right? Hey, at least it comes with an earpiece. The product page of the Bluetooth Dental Insert Microphone, for some weird reason, was pulled down recently. (Read the full post about ‘Drill Your Tooth for a Bluetooth Microphone’…)
