NapTV Splices Stool And Screen

NapTV Splices Stool And Screen
An idea as simple as the NapTV deserves a similarly simple description, which is exactly what designer Sung-kyu Nam has done. These are the only words accompanying the pictures of his concept: NapTV has a new concept about TV & Chair. You can sit on NapTV and also watch TV lying on the floor. The stool hides a screen and stereo speakers on the underside so you can lie down with your head inside. That’s right. You can watch a movie even if you are too tired to remain upright. All that is required is a single open eye. This, my friends, is a bachelor’s dream. You can literally drink yourself under the table and then fall asleep watching your choice of smut. It even comes with a remote control. (Read the full post about ‘NapTV Splices Stool And Screen’…)

Controlling Contrast On Digital Pictures

Controlling Contrast On Digital Pictures
Filed in archive Tip by jim on April 14, 2008 "Contrast" is the difference in color and light between parts of an image. If all parts of a photograph, be it color or B&W, were completely and equally illuminated, or at the same "brightness" level, nothing would stand out in the image. There would be no point of interest, no "pop" to the subject, it would appear "flat", which describes a lack of contrast in a picture. I happen to be a fan of higher contrast photography; but many people prefer less "edge" and a softer effect. The picture above, depending on how it appears on your computer monitor, is an example of how I like a picture to look, in terms of contrast. The Only Five Kitchen Tools You Really Need

The Only Five Kitchen Tools You Really Need
Cooking is a popular hobby, and like any hobby, there are approximately one zillion useless knick-knacks available to “Save Time!” and “Make Your Life Easier!”. These are fine as stocking fillers and birthday gifts, but after a couple of uses they’ll end up cluttering the bottom drawer, the lucky recipient too guilty to put them where they belong: In the trash. There are a few genuinely useful, multi-tasking kitchen gadgets, like the food processor, but the kit below will do 99% of kitchen jobs with perfect results, even if it does take a little longer. And hey, cooking is fun. Pour a glass of wine, fire up the stove and enjoy it. Knives You need one. A good, sturdy chef’s knife. Google Android on an HTC Touch Dual

Don’t like the standard Windows Mobile that ships with your HTC Touch Dual? Give this post over at Coolsmartphone a look. It features two videos of a Touch Dual running a ROM put out by XDA-Developers. It’s a bit buggy and crashes during the video a couple of times but you get an early taste of what the world will soon see. I love seeing operating systems running on machines that they weren’t designed for.

Ziszor - Portable Paper Shredder

Ziszor - Portable Paper Shredder
In the “is this really necessary” department, you’ll find the Ziszor handheld paper shredder. Everything in this day and age gets miniaturized, huh? The perfect use of this gadget for those on-the-go execs who need to shred ATM receipts or perhaps those guys in the West Wing who only seem to get information via little pieces of paper which they promptly eat. Kidding. But if they had a Ziszor, no more indigestion. The Ziszor is 10″ long and weighs less than 1.5lbs, nice and light. It also has an attachable plastic bag to catch all those little shreddings. Is that a word? Runs on 4 AA batteries which is probably where a lot of the weight lies. (Read the full post about ‘Ziszor - Portable Paper Shredder’…)
