MobileTechReview has a review of the Palm Centro And writes, “Though only 1.3 megapixels, the camera did an excellent job with the image processing and we got very pleasing colors and a natural sharpness in well lit scenes. There’s less noise in the AT&T version’s photos than Sprint’s for indoor shots, and indoor shots are acceptable. Photo resolutions are 1280 x 1024, 640 x 480 and 320 x 240. There are few settings available, and these are: effect, date stamp, shutter sound on/off and prompt sound and review period. You can save photos to a card and send them via MMS…There are separate icons for camera and camcorder, though you can switch between the two modes once in the application. by Joshua Topolsky, posted Apr 15th 2008 at 10:19AM Tesla Motors can’t seem to keep itself out of the press, can it? The newest flare-up concerns rival Fisker and claims that the automaker has stolen trade secrets and copied design concepts. In a lawsuit filed Monday by Tesla, the carmaker accuses Henrik Fisker — whom the company had hired to design its WhiteStar sedan — of accepting the work to “gain access to confidential design information and trade secrets.” The company alleges that Fisker then used that knowledge to launch a competing vehicle, and believes Fisker has implemented its range-extended vehicle (or REV) technology in the recently introduced Karma. The TouchBrowser from Makayama is a simple, full-page rendering Web browser for Windows Mobile users that surprise, surprise - offers the iPhone-like ability of moving around a Web page simply by dragging the tip of your finger. A simple touch of a button results in a switch between desktop and mobile page layouts, while an enlarged keypad allows you to type freely without a stylus. Some notable drawbacks would be missing tabs as well as Java functionality, but those are minor niggles that could be fixed in a future update (if any). Makayama’s TouchBrowser will retail for €11.95 when available. Will this help keep Windows Mobile users loyal, or will they drift towards the iphone? The Arabesque loudspeakers from Crystal Cables are definitely a beauty to behold - the enclosures themselves are made from hand-blown Czech Republic crystal, boasting walls that are at least 0.5″ thick and the overall looks that will turn your tech-inclined visitors’ legs into mush. Sharp LC-46D64U LCD TV Our first date with Sharp’s 46-inch LCD ended badly. Sure, we had a few laughs, but they were at the TV’s expense: Despite the slim, sexy body and glossy black bezel, we just couldn’t get past the orange-tinted faces and splotchy picture. Midway through the movie, we faked getting an emergency call (“Oh, no, the cat’s up a tree?! We’re on our way!”) and split. Sharp’s matchmakers begged us for a second chance. “That first set was trash,” they admitted. “We’ll send you one that knows how to please a reviewer, wink-wink.” Okay, Sharp, you got it. After all, a bad unit can happen to anyone. And sure enough, the replacement kicks some HDTV ass. (Read the full post about ‘Review: Sharp LCD TV Scores Big On Our Second Pass’…)
