The device you see above is the Hard Disk Crusher device by EDR Solutions. The Hard Disk Crusher which weighs almost 6 stones can crush HDDs at the rate one per 10 seconds. It runs powered by electricity through a standard outlet and has the capacity to crush 100,000 hard disks without the need for servicing. The caveat: it costs 5,750. Of course, it could especially be useful for companies who want to protect their privacy, but as for me, I could always leave my old HDD in the middle of the road where a ten-wheeler could deliver and even more devastating end to it.
