Heat Sensitive Pants

Heat Sensitive Pants
Global Hypercolor has introduced color-changing technology into a couple of heat sensitive knicker designs from Green Knickers. Now, the entire pair isn’t heat sensitive, as only the daisy motif on the front is subsceptible to it. As for the rest of the knickers, it is made out of organic cotton for the ultimate comfort. Now if only someone could come up with a lie-detector version built right into it - one’s pants no longer needs to catch fire but change color instead. They retail for £15 apiece. StandPouch eliminates the need for a tripod

StandPouch eliminates the need for a tripod
I can bet that when most of you carry around your camera, you don’t bother to bring along a tripod. Unless you’re a professional photographer that’s heading to a shoot, you’ll find that the benefits of a stable surface far outweigh the bulk of such a device. This StandPouch however, will ensure that you always have a tripod for your point-and-shoot camera. Rather than just being a simple little tripod that you carry around with you, this product also acts as a protective case for your camera. Sure, it’s not going to work nearly as well as a large tripod, but it give you something adjustable to set it on. Best of all, it will only set you back $13. Philips Xenium X800 e2e to come with “edge to edge” touchscreen?

Philips Xenium X800 e2e to come with “edge to edge” touchscreen?
As if we have not yet seen enough of all these new touchscreen phones that have been jumping out of the woodwork lately, here comes yet another, featuring the same old touchscreen, and almost the same specifications as well. Although this time, it could have one thing that separates it from the myriad of other touchscreen phones out there - herculean battery life. That’s because this new touchscreen phone falls under the Philips Xenium brand, which, in case you don’t know, has a reputation for churning out gadgets with incredibly long-lasting batteries. And knowing that this same company completed its very own touchscreen phone (Philips Xenium 9@9v) a couple of months back, this new rumor becomes quite believable. E-Ink e-Paper Display Technology

E-Ink e-Paper Display Technology
E-Ink has rolled out a new generation of e-paper cells, being up to 40% thinner and can be bent into other forms such as curves, allowing future devices to come in a wide range of form factors. Not only are they more flexible, they are also of a superior breed so to speak, being able to survive harsher temperatures thanks to its extremely power-efficient designs that make it able to stand more exposure outside. There are no future products to use such a display announced at press time, but E-Ink did mention that companies using their earlier e-paper display technology will be able to receive a custom display within three months’ time, which makes the earliest of such devices available this fall. Terrafugia hopes to showcase drivable airplane this summer

Terrafugia hopes to showcase drivable airplane this summer
by Darren Murph, posted May 10th 2008 at 9:35AM Make no mistake, Terrafugia’s outlandish airplane / motorcar hybrid has been on the drawing board for years, but it looks like the rubber is about to hit the proverbial road (or take to the skies, whichever) this July. A team of ten is working feverishly to ready the Transition for its debut at this year’s AirVenture, where it hopes to catch more than a few eyes with its zany “roadable aircraft.” As you can likely guess, this thing is meant to both fly and drive, and yes, that means it’ll have to pass safety regulations from both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. DARPA aims to create virtual environment for cyberwar simulations
by Darren Murph, posted May 9th 2008 at 5:43PM Considering that mechanical beings will be fighting our real wars here in just a few years, it’s no shock to see more focus placed on the areas where actual humans will still be the ones waging. DARPA is looking to create what it calls a National Cyber Range, which would essentially act as a training ground for cyber warriors. The setup would enable defense gurus to simulate battle against attacks our on nation’s most highly prized data, and of course, give victors over virtual phishing scams immense bragging rights.
