Microwaves are truly an awesome appliance. You could call them the epitome of the bachelor gadget, since so many unmarried men seem to rely on the device for all of their meals. We can’t say we’ve ever thought of using a microwave like this.
This excellent PC case mod makes your computer look like a stock-model microwave, complete with a cheap LED layout and a horizontally opening door.

by Joshua Fruhlinger, posted May 31st 2008 at 6:17AM Sorry, but squats are so 20th Century. Instead, strap on the HULC — Human Universal Load Carrier — exoskeleton and effortlessly carry an extra 200lbs. HULC not only increases your human payload, but it also “decreases [your] metabolic cost”. In other words, it seems Berkeley Bionics developed this thing for extremely lazy people, those who lose their breath easily, or for those on what they call “long duration missions”. by Darren Murph, posted May 31st 2008 at 8:38AM So we’ve seen a few solar-powered gizmos (that we wouldn’t touch with a ten twenty foot poll), but Thanko’s own sun-lovin’ DAP actually doesn’t look half bad. The Solar Digital Audio Player, from the front, looks like any other ho hum unit, with a 1.8-inch 220 x 176 resolution display, 4GB of internal storage space and a miniSD expansion slot. Flip ‘er over, and you’ll find a thoughtful kickstand that just so happens to have a solar panel slapped right on, enabling the brilliant, outdoor sunshine to give it a few more minutes of life. There’s no official word on a price or release date, but we wouldn’t bank on it ever coming Stateside, anyway.Read (Read the full post about ‘Thanko’s solar-powered DAP urges you outdoors’…)

Sanyo has introduced a couple of super-bright projectors to the masses - the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50. Both are extremely portable and small enough for mounting on the ceiling or placement on stationary desktops, making it perfect for personal use or even in classrooms. Each of these projectors also boast an extra security feature in the form of the durable Security Bar and a PIN number which is required in order to unlock the projector before it can be used. Sounds like the perfect candidates for the education sector where ease-of-use, portability and security are of the utmost importance. Interestingly enough, the PLC-XC55 and PLC-XC50 are equipped with Sanyo’s Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) that makes filter changing a snap. Rich people scare me. Okay, so not all of them do, but the ones that feel the need to spend $300 extra for an item that anyone else would pick up for dirt cheap. One such item I’m referring to is the Dunhill Bulldog USB Key, which is made from stainless steel and have a bulldog on the tip. No other special functions or abilities, yet for some reason it will run you $350. I guess if you really love bulldogs or enjoy lighting cigars with $100 bills, you’ll love this drive. Those grocery lists. We have to write them every week. Milk, eggs, butter, yada yada yada. But what if you could just speak into a mic and have something print out for you? That way you can make your list while on the fly without having the fridge open or sticking your head into the pantry and then writing stuff down. I hate writing stuff down! But with the Electronic SmartShopper Grocery List Maker, you have one less list to write. It really couldn’t be easier. With it’s voice recognition system, the shopper just records what they want the the Smartshopper not only prints out a complete list, but even organizes it by sections of the store. This makes shopping quicker and more efficient. (Read the full post about ‘Digital Shopping List/Recorder makes shopping h-itech and a lot easier’…)
