X10 automated Poker / Blackjack table is decidedly drool-worthy

X10 automated Poker / Blackjack table is decidedly drool-worthy
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 2nd 2008 at 6:37PM Every so often, a completely unnecessary gizmo hits the scenes that hardly anyone will be able to afford, yet nearly everyone could imagine having as their own. Feast your eyes on one such device: the X10 Ten Player Automated Table from Play Hard Gaming. This masterpiece seats ten (presumably wealthy) players and features a central 27-inch LCD alongside ten 12.1-inch touch panels. The computerized dealer dishes out the cards, and individuals play along by simply tapping their dedicated touchscreen. Both Texas Hold’em and Blackjack are loaded on, and you’ll even get free game upgrades for life when you commit to taking one home. Automated Touchscreen Poker Table

Automated Touchscreen Poker Table
Imagine if you and your buddies could all get together for a game of Texas Hold’em and not even require a physical deck of cards? Poker had a sort of a second or third-wind within the last few years with the popularity of online gambling and college frat boys who have too much time on their hands. This excellent (yet extremely expensive) X10 10 player Automated Poker Table might be the next-generation gadget of choice for casinos and wealthy poker fans. And when we say wealthy, we mean wealthy enough to shell out $30k for a high-tech poker table. The X10 comes with a set of ten 12.1” touchscreens, one for each player, while featuring a 27″ touchscreen in the center of the table which acts as the dealer and house hand display. HP’s Voodoo team prepping something “beautiful” for June 10

HP’s Voodoo team prepping something “beautiful” for June 10
by Paul Miller, posted Jun 2nd 2008 at 11:28AM Our stubborn pocket books and loved ones continue to chime in with a resounding “no” every time we start considering one of those fancy HP Blackbird 002 units, but that doesn’t mean HP isn’t on to something when it comes to fancy aesthetics and even fancier tech specs — all courtesy of that VoodooPC buy a while back. Now it appears HP has a big unveil set for June 10 that “could begin to establish the company as a provider of beautiful technology gear” according to a Fortune article on HP. Voodoo founder Rahul Sood likens Voodoo’s role as akin to Lamborghini within Audi, and has promised a “huge announcement” on his own blog. How to Build a $150 Linux-based PC Through Online Deals and Coupons

How to Build a $150 Linux-based PC Through Online Deals and Coupons
If you’ve always wanted to build a computer from the ground up but never really had the time to find the necessary parts online, a coupon-centered blog called Coupon Codes Mall has done all the work for you. We think their choices lead to a pretty solid build, and all the coupon/sale links are current, but let’s just say this straight-up: You should temper your expectations right now. It’s a simple bare bones PC and it probably won’t win any real tough benchmark contests. But it’s hard to argue with useful and efficient cheapness. The CCM PC includes some of the cheapest parts available on the net. Here’s the full kit (keep in mind that this does not include a keyboard, a mouse or a monitor): Motherboard: Intel’s D201GLY2 with CPU. Palm claims larger share of smartphone market, has Centro to thank
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 2nd 2008 at 4:20PM What’s this? Some joyous news on the Palm front? No need to Windex your spectacles — the aforementioned handset maker has indeed managed to up its share of the smartphone market from 7.9% in the fourth quarter to 13.4% today, largely thanks to the popularity of its Centro. In general, analysts seemed quite pleased by the gains, noting that it (along with RIM) were able to take advantage of the 7.5% skid experienced by Apple during the same period. Vodafone Station brings FMC service to Italy

Vodafone Station brings FMC service to Italy
by Darren Murph, posted Jun 2nd 2008 at 10:15AMTruth be told, Fixed Mobile Convergence still isn’t talked about much (comparatively speaking) ’round these parts. Yeah, we’ve seen a few FMC routers scattered about, but Vodafone’s taking a stand by rolling out its Station in Italy. The box, which was developed in cooperation with Huawei, is an integrated switch / router with ADSL2+, WiFi, UMTS / HSPA (via a removable USB key) and four Ethernet ports. Essentially, it’s designed to combine voice with fixed and mobile broadband services, and it enables users to make calls on their handset through a fixed line connection when they’re kicking back at home. Sony PSP works with DualShock

Sony PSP works with DualShock
Acid Mods has successfully forced a DualShock controller to play nice with the Sony PSP console, and this won’t require you to perform any software modifications or updates as it can be done on just about any PSP regardless of the firmware, relying on hardware modifications entirely. I’m not sure why you would want to play the PSP using a DualShock controller, but hey - whatever floats your boat. Gadgetell Unboxing: Jawbone (new) Bluetooth Headset

Gadgetell Unboxing: Jawbone (new) Bluetooth Headset
As soon as Aliph released their latest Jawbone headset, which we have seen referred to as the “new Jawbone” and also the “Jawbone 2” it became a must have item. Aside from the promised better sound quality thanks to the “military-grade NoiseAssassin technology” the promise of a 50% smaller headset was hard to pass up. Having used the original Jawbone since it was released, this is a welcome addition. The smaller size alone makes this money well spent, because ultimately my only real complaint about the original was the large size. The new Jawbone comes complete with a charger, three sizes of the ear piece and four ear hooks, two of which are leather covered.
