Power strips haven’t exactly aged very well. Power adapters started getting huge and oddly shaped, which meant many outlets in a power strip would wind up being wasted. There have been ways to get around that thanks to the aid of some cool gadgets, but none which seem quite as effective as the Socket Sense. Beautifully designed and well-thought out, the Socket Sense power strip ensures that every bulky AC adapter and plug has a spot to fit. Each of the sockets are positioned at a 45-degree angle, as to make sure that even the bulkiest adaptors stick to their own spot, not covering any of the other outlets. The Socket Sense also includes an expanding length so that you can house as much bulk as needed without each plug interfering with one another. (Read the full post about ‘Socket Sense Power Strip’…)

Intel has managed to offer a sub-4W PC that is powered by a Menlow-based Gigabyte M528, and tests that involve MP3 streaming over WiFi via a Java applet on a Firefox 3-based browser sees the CPU having an average utilization 30%. Battery life in the mentioned test managed to last for approximately 3 hours and 35 minutes, which is pretty impressive with an average battery drain of approximately 2.8W. With the screen turned on at full brightness, it should hit 3.3W, and that translates to approximately 3 hours of running time. Pretty impressive, eh? This kitchen gadget helps shorten your chore time, as it is able to perform everything from washing to rinsing your veggies clean and even spinning them dry within half a minute. The more immaculate among you might probably take out the dry veggies and perform the process manually all over again just to be sure, but I think majority of folks will be more than happy with the results. A tiny lid allows you to add in your salad dressing. The handle on the lid itself is geared, so pressy the lid once will let the slitted bowl spin up to 5 times. When you rotate the handle quickly, the Salad Spinner will double up as a spin drying, removing any excess water into the outer bowl. (Read the full post about ‘Mini Salad Spinner’…)

I don’t know, the very name Paki is rather derogatory IMHO, but I guess that depends on which pair of glasses you’re wearing. Paki the Hippo is an edutainment tool from designer Paul Berger to help school kids pick up what energy consumption is all about. Paki features teeth, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth that can be articulated, teaching in an extremely cute manner that will certainly put graphs and topographic charts to shame. Since it is hard to teach old dogs new tricks, Paki has its sights clearly set on children who will form the backbone of our future generation as they are the hope to introduce a paradigm shift in social ecology. Good luck, Paul! (Read the full post about ‘Paki the Hippo’…)
Control Freek has introduced a unique tennis racquet that helps prevent sweaty palms by including an air-conditioner within. Interesting, no? After all, sweat from your palms is one of the main culprits that lets you lose control of your racquet as the match wears on, leaving you with a less-than-desirable grip. You won’t need any batteries with this racquet though, as it has been specially fashioned to capture air inside the handle each time you swing the racquet, and this air will be blasted through holes and into your palm, ensuring everything stays cool and dry even under the sweltering summer heat (and not to mention the tension in the match). Do you think a blast of cool air will cause a distraction in your game? (Read the full post about ‘Control Freek Tennis Racquet’…)
