Apple has introduced a new iphone 3G dock to the Apple Store. Like the previous version, it features a scooped-out front section so you can reach the home button, and it has a couple of grill-covered audio conduits to route the sound from the speakers and enable speakerphone calls. Also, like the original model, there is no remote control support, so the $30 accessory is strictly for charging and syncing (and, of course, for holding the iPhone at a jaunty angle). The new dock will not work with your old first generation iPhone. But, we ask, why bother? It’s likely that, when the next iPhone is released, this dock will be as useless as its predecessor is now. Better, then, to just spring for the new $ (Read the full post about ‘IPhone 3G Docks Appear at the Apple Store’…)

Who would have thought that someday dancing the Electric Slide could actually generate - well, electricity.
But that is what is happening with Club Surya in London, England, part of the Club4Climate project aiming at self-creating 60% percent of the energy needed to run a club.
Part of the power generated for the club is created by a special bouncing dance floor that takes the movements of dancers and converts it to electricity. The way it works is by a piezoelectric process where blocks made of crystals create electricity when smashed and this power is then diverted to batteries.

There have been rumors for a while, but it has now been made official by EA that a Knights of the Old Republic MMO is in development.
Confirmation came from the very top in an interview with EA CEO John Riccitiello on Portfolio.com. During the interview he said:
We’ve got two of the most compelling MMOs in the industry in development … And the one that people are dying for us to talk to them about — in partnership with Lucas, coming out of BioWare, which is, I think, quite possibly the most anticipated game, full stop, for the industry at the point when we get closer to telling you about it.
With a bit more prodding from the interviewer Riccitiello confirmed that he is talking about Knights of the Old Republic Online.
Further comments made during the interview suggest the game will follow just a PC release route.

If you happen to have a copy of Microsoft’s Windows 3.1 lying around and also happen to own a Nokia N810, why not try to do what John has done? He managed to run Windows 3.1 on the Nokia N810 with the help of DOSBOX. It doesn’t look too hot though, but imagine all the retro games you can play with this, especially those cartoony Lucasarts-era title. Further instructions can be found here. In the movies, prison inmates spend their time whittling chess pieces and digging escape tunnels with modded teaspoons. In real life, the forced ingenuity of the convict is turned to bleaker, more violent purposes, as we see in this gallery of Escape Tools, photographed by Marc Steinmetz back in 1999. Some of these hacks would leave even MacGyver with his head in a spin. There’s the usual something-in-a-box (in this case, a radio), but the dagger/crucifix is truly horrifying, and the immersion heater fashioned from an old kettle-lead and a few razor blades is a dazzingly innovative device for distilling hooch. Not surprisingly, drug paraphernalia features big. (Read the full post about ‘Gallery of Home-Made Prison Escape Tools’…)

If there’s one pearl of wisdom that I’ve discovered throughout my existence on this earth that holds true, it would be this - never argue with a woman on how many shoes she should own. High heels are hot ticket items with females, and the Goodie 2 Shoes concept by designer Natalie Thorne offers a quick transformation thanks to a male-and-female peg system that is held together by a hidden hinge and strong magnets. The whole look and feel of the shoe can also be changed simply by using different plastic uppers, making this feel like a Mr. Potato toy instead. Of course, make sure you don’t place any data sensitive devices near this pair of shoes since the magnets might do a number on your confidential information. Ok, ok, everyone keeps submitting the BGR article confirming some features and how T-Mobile is going to market it as just “Sidekick” with a model number of 2008. So it looks like you’ll be telling your friends you just got the “Sidekick”. We here at hiptop3.com would like to start a grass-roots effort to actually call this the Sidekick Gekko in common conversation because it’s a cooler name. What do you guys think? Which name would you have liked to see T-Mobile name it? What should the Sidekick 2008 be called? by Joshua Topolsky, posted Jul 17th 2008 at 2:02PM We’ve been getting scattered reports that Apple’s shiny new toy might not be snagging as many bars as it should for a lot of users. In our own tests, we’ve noticed the iPhone 3G fairing poorly in spots where other 3G devices exhibit strong signals, and the Apple support forums are alive with displeasure over what might be a widespread issue. We’re curious to know what you — the reader — are experiencing. How’s your mileage with the new phone? Let us know in the poll below. How’s your iPhone 3G reception?Great! Not only is my phone better looking than yours, it sounds better too.Pretty good. It’s on par with other phones I’ve used in the same areas.Sometimes I only g (Read the full post about ‘Poll: How’s your iPhone 3G reception?’…)
