You know those products that you would like to have, but they haven’t been invented yet? Well, this new product from Thanko certainly fits under that category. Whenever your on the computer for extended amounts of time, especially during the summer, your hands tend to get a little sweaty and that often becomes annoying. Thanko realized that this was an annoying problem and so they created this keyboard that has built-in fans to keep your hands cool. Thanko is a company that is somewhat like Brando, and are known for their random, yet (sometime) useful products. This new keyboard, the Thanko Cooler USB keyboard, comes with three fans, and there is a switch located on the keyboard to turn on the fans or to turn them off. Chinavasion has produced an MP4 player known as CVSJ-1304-4GB, which is notable because it is 4.5 mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest. Is it just me, or is suspicion aroused when I hear “world’s thinnest” (or world’s anything, for that matter). First of all, it is hard to verify that, as there are so many companies who make Portable Media Players (PMPs) worldwide. Not only that, PMP technology changes all the time, so by the time this report is written, some other company will come out with a product the world’s thinnest, smallest, or whatever. I believe that Reachgood’s PMP said they were the world’s thinnest at 5.5 mm, and this new one from Chinavasion beats it by a whole millimeter! If you do not have the luxury of setting up an actual band, why not settle for Rock Band instead? It is far from the real thing, but at least a bunch of your mates will be able to get together and exercise that wild imagination. Of course, the “instruments” used aren’t real, but here’s a way to up the realism ante - by adding a trio of actual cymbals into an existing Rock Band setup. Too bad there aren’t any Rock Band-compatible drum kits at this point in time, leaving you with plastic sets. Sounds like this DIY project will place you in a clashing good time when done! Instead of carving out a flap on your front door for your pooch to enter/exit as it pleases, why not settle for the Plexidoor electronic dog door? After all, it helps keep your home secure while offering freedom to Fido to go out and relieve himself when necessary without having to wake you up in the middle of the night. This is made possible thanks to a waterproof RFID chip located on Fido’s collar that functions as a pass code. It comes with a safety mechanism to prevent paws and fingers from getting stuck, but I wonder how easily will it get dislodged. Depending on the size and model, the Plexidor Electronic Dog Door will retail from $129 to $800. (Read the full post about ‘Plexidoor Electronic Dog Door’…)

Google seems to be aiming its crosshairs directly towards the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, with the official launch of Knol.
Knol, the names comes from the short version of the word knowledge, is a different type of user-generated encyclopedia because every writer is identified with their photo and profile. After 7 months in beta phase, it is now open for everybody to share his or her expertise in diverse topics ranging from backpacking to molecular biology.
In contrast to Wikipedia, it does not rely on the community to add or verify information. Also, readers don’t have the right to edit the content. They can only rate them or write reviews about them.

This ought to be the geekiest belt buckle ever - the NES Belt Buckle. It doesn’t miniaturize the parts of an NES into a board small enough to fit in a belt buckle, but relies on an entire NES instead to be the belt buckle. I’m not sure if having a beer guy would bode well, but otherwise it ought to offer adequate protection for your nether regions against kung-fu kicks. Definitely high up on the weird factor, the NES Belt Buckle will retail for $300 each. I suggest saving that money by rummaging through the attic for a working NES and coming up with one for yourself. (Read the full post about ‘NES Belt Buckle’…)

Scary alien pig alert! Scary alien pig alert! I mean, seriously. How freaky looking are these pink and white pig loudspeakers? They’re already equipped with speakers beneath their volume-controlling ears, as well as where their bellies should be. Did the sadistic manufacturer really have to gouge out their eyes and stuff two more speakers into the sockets? There’s a possibility that I could be coaxed into appreciating the bass control located on the pig’s behind, but there’s no way I’ll ever think that nuclear glow coming from its mouth is okay. I can’t get on board with the whopping $105 asking price either. Via Geek Alerts. Tags: game, hdtv, video, home cinema (Read the full post about ‘Pig speaker wants to be taken to your leader’…)
